So, I find people’s reading styles curious. Mostly, are you a one-book-at-a-time reader, do you read more than one book at a time, or are you maniacal like I am and read like a dozen at at time?
I am such a mood reader that I usually have quite a few books started at any given time and then one or two sort of “catch” and I read those more continuously, and then I start the process again.
When I was little I read one book at a time and devoured it. I mostly read thriller/horror books then – like Christopher Pike and R. L. Stine. I was so focused back then. π
I noticed I had some “currently reading” books checked off on Goodreads and wondered if I should add everything I’ve started to that list. π¬ Instead I’ll just list the books I’m most involved with right now.
The Body by Stephen King. It’s like reading the movie, Stand By Me, in some ways. Solid so far. One of my goals for a few years now has been to finish a Stephen King book and enjoy it. And this feels like the winner of that goal.
Murder by Memory by Olivia Waite. It’s 100 pages, and I’m like 20% of the way through, so this feels like an easy finish. So far, so good.
Grave Empire by Richard Swan. I’m about 20% of the way in, but I’m reading it pretty slowly. It’s been easy to put down and then get back into later. It’s a longer book with a sequel, so a bigger commitment.
The Violently Departed by Sarah J. Daley. I’m reading this one for the r/Fantasy read-a-long, but I keep getting distracted. I’m halfway through, so I’m hoping to pick up a second wind.
All Systems Red by Martha Wells. I’m about 30% of the way in and enjoying it. It’s another short read, so I should finish this month. I’m curious about the show.
