We Read in Moments of Time

I took some time to re-read my previous posts (from the earlier days I kept this blog/site) and it has been interesting to reflect on growth and changes that have happened over the years.

It made me happy to read about the joy so many of these books provided and the freedom with which I expressed that joy. I fear my new self is far more cynical and less joyful than my previous self. I am less romantic and far more interested in the gritty reality of life – but I also weep at picture books where kind crayons befriend an outcast crayon. So maybe not quite as embittered and different as I imagine sometimes. At least I hope.
