Last year in January I read The Cruel Prince and loved it, so I was very much looking forward to The Wicked King. It did not disappoint, but now I have to wait another year for the final book in the trilogy. *sigh* I might describe these books as candy. Not very nutritious, but oh, so fun. 5-stars.
In 2017, I read The Song of Achilles. I love mythology and was curious about her take on the relationship between Achilles and Patroclus. I was impressed. Madeline Miller does an amazing job describing what life might have been like for humans interacting with gods and demigods. So, Circe was one of my highest anticipated reads of 2018, but I think I was a little nervous that I might not like it as much. I was silly to have waited; I loved it! 5 stars. ❤

I saw a BookTube review of this book and was intrigued. The plot reminded me a bit of Uprooted, and I really quite enjoy fairytales and folklore. I enjoyed the first half of the book; I was interested in the plot and was curious about the devil and the forest and the secrets therein. But, sadly, the story just sort of fell apart. Disappointing. 2.5 stars.
